MAGIC IS IN THE AIR AND A STORM IS A BREWING

The weather today is in the high 88's strong gust of winds
are stirring, a reminder to us who live
along the Gulf Coast that it's
hurricane season.

I have been restless all day, earlier while I
was in my front yard I noticed something
different.
 Something has been busy moving
around rocks..
This spot is under a Bartlett Pear tree.

If I didn't know any better
I would think something
has taken up here....

I always have lots of critters that live under this tree,
many places to find shelter or perhaps make a home.
Birds have many places for water, even the
concrete toad stools will hold a sip or two.

WHERE HAVE THESE BLOOMS COME FROM?

Moss is everywhere, Resurrection fern thrives and
Creeping Jenny does what she does best

This stone bee marks the pathway.

It's hard to see but there is a path.....
In the evenings the Fireflies - Lightening Bugs are everywhere...
lighting the way.  For Who or What?

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT FAIRIES CAN LIVE IN YOUR GARDEN?

I DO!

WONDERFUL UNEXPECTED GIFTS

Hello Friends,
For the past few years I have tried to collect seeds from my
blooming flowers as they dry.  I follow the instructions
and am always very proud of the
number of seeds I harvest.

Each winter as I browse my gardening books, I get fired up to plant my dried seeds.  Ever so careful I do exactly like they suggest and
by early spring I have seedlings and before
long they are planted into the ground.

Yep, you guessed it nothing........

But this year here it is summer and guess what?

Dumb luck!

I let nature do what she is
so wonderfully can.

My spring blooming wild
Queens Anne's Lace
was in full bloom in
March/April.

In May I noticed little
seedlings coming up
from the seeds that the
blooms had dropped just
a month before.

Here it is almost July and
I have blooms with a dozen
or so new plants budding.

I am so thrilled with
my unexpected gift
and a gardening
lesson....

Don't take life so serious.

Enjoy the beauty of nature
and let her take the course in my little garden.

More Gifts      This wicked plant is know as "Dutchman's Pipe".
My plant never seems to do much....just a lot of foliage.
But when it blooms, it stops traffic.  Hanging
on my front yard picket fence it is always of interest.
Here are two buds ready to bust open.
Look carefully one bloom is large ready to peak
and the other one is smaller.

The blooms can be up to 10" long, and will only last
a day or two.  This year since we had such a
mild winter it has bloomed twice already
each time a dozen or so blooms will
hang over the fence.
It's different not a beauty and with no floral scent
but yet it deserves a spot in my garden.

Enjoying this lazy Sunday with The Tablescaper.

Enjoy your Gifts, Kathy

COMMAND CENTRAL - STORM WATCH

Greetings Friends,

Reporting from command central, Mobile has been under siege with terrible weather this past week, flooding.

This corner in my living room really is my command central.
As long as there is no lightening I love to sit right here.... and I did, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
I know, I know there are dust bunnies everywhere.

My street is notorious for flooding so lets face it who wants to
get in that mess. There were several washed out streets
in Mobile along with lots of down trees.

The dog and I was as happy as can be, sipping on
tea and pinning......... (of course Jake just laid on the stool)

I guess Pinterest is my newest obsession.
check it out!  pinterest.com/kathylovitt/

I can't seem to be able to link directly to Pinterest,
I have copied the address as it appears but it isn't
linking, I have also tried many times to add it to my blog.
Still no luck, I need HELP!

I get to check out my front garden and when it wasn't
raining the birds were having a blast.
You know how much I love moss....well guess what?
Moss is growing as we speak in my garden.

Thanks for stopping by..... After I awoke from
my pinning stooper - - I was shocked
to see I have 233 Followers.
I think before the storm I had 222.....
Wow, So glad you have joined me.  Thanks,
I am going to join these linky parties.....come on.
