FALL IS IN THE AIR

Early this morning it was actually very pleasant
outside.  It didn't last long
but it did give me hope,
September will be cooler than August.

Fall was in the air.

I was inspired to pick up
fall flowers and
these cheery
Zienna's
were perfect.

I have a weakness for fall and these
flowers inspired me to

take a few minutes,

relax on the porch

and daydream of cooler weather.

I hope you are staying cool.

I am joining a few parties, won't you come along?

OH HOW I LOVE BROMELIADS

This is my little piece of shady heaven.

I started a few years ago trying to get assorted moss, ferns and ground covers under this pear tree.

Being selective changed and now I am just happy if they are happy.

Sometimes I use this spot as my final resting place
for tender sickly plants, it gets decent shade and regular water.

While in Tampa 3 years ago I was able to pick up
several wonderful Bromeliads.
When the sun gets to hot they love having part shade.

The pop of color is so refreshing and this spot always seems a few degrees cooler.   Even if it is my imagination.

If you have never tried Bromeliads check them out.

This spot is always so interesting, lots of insects so that means the birds
flock to it and the birdbath.

This is Alice, broken she may be but she insist
on holding court.

She keeps watch over everything and is always on alert for the
white rabbit.  She has a real
fear about holes in the ground.

Remember my faithful Resurrection Fern?

I am always on the look out for toadstools or muchrooms
to tuck in here and there.

I keep telling myself I want to make some
from the peat and cement receipe.
Oh well, there is always next spring.

Don't you think this looks like a place
where fairy's would play?   I like to think so.

Do you have a special place in your garden
where fairies live?

Promise me you will try a Bromeliad?

But don't buy the grocery store ones
check out your Botanical Garden or
Garden Shops.

I have saved the best for last.

Moss, Moss, Moss isn't it wonderful?
I love when it gathers on
rocks and pots

I can't resist rocks I have collected them for years.

The marker is a reproduction of a garden marker
in Williamsburg.

It has been a few weeks since I have posted, I feel like
Chatty Kathy.

My computer has been down, oh how I missed you all.

Stay cool and blessings to you all,
my prayers are with you folks along the
eastern coast.   Kathy

RAINY, HAZY, CRAZY DAYS OF SUMMER

So little is blooming in my poor hot garden.
I am just grateful its alive.

I always love a pop of red.   How is your garden?
The heat factor is in the triple-digit temps.

My gardening days are long gone until
the middle of Sept.
Till then I will depend on blogland for color.

Enjoy your new week, Kathy

PRAYERFUL IMAGE

Recently while in New Orleans, for an art show, I had the opportunity to
visit one of my favorite churches.

St. Mary's Assumption

This beautiful church is in the lower Garden District.
The architectural style is Baroque Revial - Late Victorian
and is simply breathtaking.

The Tabernacle is surrounded by prayerful
angels, kneeling at the dwelling place for the devine presence.

There is great comfort to those who enter.

I love this altar
devoted to Mother of Perpetual Help a 15th century Byzantine icon.

In my Father's house are many rooms;
if it were not so, I would have told you.
I am going there to prepare a place for you.
john 14:2

This has been a very sad week for our community.
The death of Father Ernie Hyndman
 was received with such sadness.
He will be missed by his family, his parish and his friends.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding
Proverbs 3:5

Thanks for letting me share my thoughts and feelings.

MARY PAGE HAS ARRIVED

You remember in my last post I told you about my new friend Mary Page.
Mary Had A Little Lamb

Mary Page and her mother, dad and older brother live in the most wonderful custom built home.

This is a sneak preview of their living room, new house with
antique mantle.  Check out the great chippy table.

Oh yeah the baby crib covered with lambs wool, filled with lambs and surrounded with baby gifts for yours truly (Mary Page), is usually not in front of the fireplace.

This scene was the focal
point for Mary Page's "Mary had a little lamb" baby shower.

My dear friend, Mary Page's grandmother, Theresa is so creative
she cover the bassinet with a lamb rug.
Center stage is the vintage lamb that her daughter Page
loved dearly for years.

With the help of The Graphic Fairy I found this lovely lamb and
the poem "Mary had a little Lamb" handwritten.
The cones filled with candy and embillished with graphics and text became the shower guest favor.

Mary Page has arrived, beautiful and perfect,
she is truly a gift from God.
We are all very blessed.

For the first time I am joining Colorado Lady's
Vintage Thingies Thursday and Very Merry Vintage Style Party

MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMB

Mary had a little lamb..... was the theme of a recent baby shower in honor of the sweet mother Page and her baby to be Mary Page.

These tiny baby shoes were a gift to Page when she was born.

Everything white with lambs and vintage baby clothes were the decorations.

Yummm....Check out these precious Lamb cupcakes.

The color white with silver go together just perfectly.

LOVE IS All AROUND

Wedding Bells ..........are ringing.   I worked a wedding this past week for a dear friend's daughter, which turned out just perfect.

Young love, is there anything like it?

The wedding took place in St. Joseph's Chapel on the Spring Hill College campus.  Reception followed in the most perfect
venue.  The beautifully renovated top floor of the campus library.

Life is wonderful when the plans workout.
The skies cleared and with a setting sun the evening was kicked off.

Sorry the photos should have been better but I was a little
busy with several thousand roses.

I think you can still get a feel for the setting, romance was everywhere.  Beautiful
silver gray tablecloths were draped on all tables and bars,
accented with lots of silver, mirrors and votives.

Round orbs filled with roses were everywhere,
wonderful eye candy for such a romantic atmosphere.

Sunday I could hardly move so I spent the day in bed relaxing.
It was all worth it, the beautiful bride and good looking groom
laughed and partied all evening with friends
and family.

I am in LOVE!  I have a new love, SALONPAS, peel off pain relief pads for
Arthritis.  It helps pain in hands, wrist, knees, neck it can
do the trick.  I would have bought a big ole roll of it but
it only came in small patches.  They are good, very, very good.

Hi dear friends, lets join Mosaic Monday at Dear Little Red House

Good Night, my big fluffy bed is calling me.  Kathy
