My Love for Pottery Barn

We are down to the last two weeks of the Halloween season.
Anything and everything that will get decorated
is done.  The dust bunnies and dog prints have been
tackled, what shows up is invited to the parties.

The table is set the menu planned and the favors are finished.

The large pair of ravens were purchased a few years back from Target.
The candle was in my Swapoween package from Vandy. Doesn't it look
great with the ravens?

The small dishes are from Pottery Barn this year.
The designs are wonderful and each of the four
are different.

The raven table runner was also from Pottery Barn a few
years back.
I would have loved a pair of pillows with the same design.
I simply love Pottery Barn.

Now for another peek of halloween.....

This is a corner on Theresa's deck, the photo was taken one spooky night. She keeps her sheets handy, her grandson is scared of skeltons so she stays busy covering up, moving and stashing them all in the name of halloween.
Hopefully his distaste for skulls and bones will change in the future.

Hope you enjoyed your weekend,  Happy Hauntings, Kathy

LET THE PARTIES BEGIN

Now that the Halloween decorating is finished,
your house and yard look nice and spooky,
its time to do the next best thing "entertain".

Invite your friends and lets party.

Dust off your witch outfit, drag out your broom and
slip on your favorite jewels, just for this special
occassion.  You know the ones.
Spiders, skulls and the bling oh my.

You know you just can't wear the same old stuff on such
a frightful night.

I finally sent off my Giveaway box, to celebrate
100 follower,
to Cass @ That Old House.
She is such a doll and her family lives in the
most wonderful old home in New Jersey.

I have tested her patience but by now her package has arrived.
The Giveaway started with an ironstone platter and ended
with lots of goodies.
A pair of lovely vintage tea cups, custom tea bags,
and napkins.  A great bar of french soap,
Tracey Porter note cards and a candle.
A piece of antique lace from the monastery.

It has been so much fun gathering the items
to send to Cass, hope she enjoys them.

I also participated in SWAPOWEEN

Vandy @ http://tttandme.blogspot.com/
She is a great mom to two boys
who love halloween.

The package is off and topped with
a fuzzy spider.  Lots of fun halloween
for her and her family to enjoy.

Come join the parties.....

FOR THE LOVE OF ORANGE

HELLO DEAR FRIENDS,
AS I HOP AROUND BLOGLAND I SEE YOU HAVE BEEN BITTEN WITH THE HALLOWEEN INSPIRATION BUG.

I THINK I HAVE ENJOYED HALLOWEEN DECORATING MORE THAN
USUAL, I THINK IT IS BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN SHARING
IT WITH YOU.  WHEN I VISIT YOUR SITES I AM
                            BLOWN AWAY BY YOUR CREATIVITY.

THERE HAD BEEN TIMES WHEN I FELT LIKE THE ONLY
HALLOWEEN NUT OUT THERE.BUT NO MORE.

I WANTED TO BRING ORANGE INTO MY HALLOWEEN
DECORATING AND IT SEEMS
THAT THE BLACK AND WHITE WAS WINNING.

CONSIDERING ORANGE IS ONE OF MY MOST
FAVORITE COLORS, I USED IT IN THE DINING
ROOM AND KITCHEN.

I SWITCHED OUT A FEW  PLATES,
DECORATED A COUPLE OF BLACK MOCK FEATHER TREES
WITH MORE ORNAMENTS AND SMALLS AND NOW
BY MAGIC I HAVE MY ORANGE.

SOMETIMES I FIND WHAT I NEED I ALREADY HAVE.
THIS PROJECT DIDN'T COST A PENNY.

IN TRUTH I COULD PROBABLY DECORATE A
COUPLE OF HOUSES WITH WHAT
I HAVE COLLECTED OVER
THE DECADES.

WHEN YOU BRING OUT LAST YEARS DECORATIONS
IT IS ALWAYS FUN TO SEE THE
NEW THINGS I ADDED TO MY COLLECTION.  IT IS GETTING
NOW THAT I SEEM TO FORGET
FROM YEAR TO YEAR WHAT I BUY.

I HOPE YOU HAVE BEEN HAVING A BLAST DECORATING.

TIS THE SEASON TO PARTY

Hello Friend,
I have missed you, I have been up to my eye balls in ravens, skulls, rats, JOL's and more.
I have to admit I can't get over how laid back I
am with the decorating,
I finally finished my front door and window boxes.

I will post that tomorrow.
But for now lets have some good ole
spooky fun.

This is some of my antique
Jack O Lanterns squeezed into a black cabinet.

The guys and I have had a blast at many a
late night. I love them...but

When I started my blog back in May I thought it
would be a good source to help
sell some of my collection.

I have really approached it kicking and screaming.
Just the thought of getting all the halloween
down from the attic and not
including the dozen or so containers
in storage made me crazy.

It wasn't that I didn't know I needed to let it go.
I just simply kept procrastenating....Why?
Lord knows I haven't any space,
like the title of my blog......
I live in a TINY cottage.

For the past several years I just haven't brought it
all out. Don't get me started on the amount of work it takes.
Work, that is an understatement.
What for decades seemed so effortless,
a labor of love,
now seems like work.

I still decorate a great deal for the holidays, just not in the
same way.
They need to find good homes and not in a storage
container in the attic. They have been around
for many a decade and survived it all.

I realized this Halloween that I just
needed one more holiday season
to party
with them before I said goodbye.

This new decorating is truly effortless.

What's Halloween without a skull stacked
on old Frankenstein books under a cloche?
Simple I Love It!

Theresa and I are hosting a party Monday
for a group of wonderful
ladies, who get Halloween.
We have all shared such happy times
celebrating the season for the past few decades.
This gathering will like old times
and it can't be halloween
without my special friends.

I am going to try to link up with many a party or two.
For this next three weeks ....

IT HAS BEGUN

JUST THE SPOT TO SIT AND THINK,
WHAT POTION WILL IT BE
THAT BRINGS HIM BACK TO ME?

THE GLITTED DUST FROM A RAVEN
THE SPIDER WEB OF A BLACK WIDOW

THE BLOOD OF A DRAGON

Will he love me more than before?

This halloween scene is on my tiny porch.  To help set the
the spooky mood.

Don't you just love it when you find pleasure
in the silly and obsurd.
I guess my fond memories of many a childhood
halloween drives
me to recapture those days.
This is a special holiday that still gives
me thrills and chills at the thought of it.
