Bed of Moss and Resurrection Fern

Early morning, after an evening shower, the temperature is just a wee bit lower.

Not many bearable mornings for coffee outside are left.

This is my first summer with the moss bed
so far so good.  It does take
daily watering but it's worth it.

The Squirrels are beginning to hoard for the winter and
they think this is the perfect place to stash their acorns.
Weeding consist of pulling oak tree seedlings weekly.

What critter wouldn't love to lounge in this bed
and enjoy this great fern pillow?

I love Resurrection Fern, it grows on our
Oak trees.  I am the neighborhood fern collector.
After a windy storm you can fine broken
branches covered with the lovely fern.
It can survive draught and will look totally dead
but with a little rain
 it is back to life.

I have never seen it in garden centers I feel sure
it hasn't any value but that makes it even more
desireable to me.

Blessings to you all, Kathy

I am going to join garden parties, come on an follow me, you will love the

  8. Your back yard looks so inviting with so many charming accessories. Your outdoor chandelier gives such a nice ambience as well as your topiary. Topiaries always attract me. I am intrigued by your moss bed. Yes, our weather is too hot now for morning coffee unless you get up around 5:30 and even then a half cup is all you can enjoy outside.

    Have a nice holiday weekend.
