SPRING LOVE AFFAIR

I am head over heels in love with

STEPABLES

Stepables are hardy plants that tolerate

foot traffic and spreads like a ground cover.

Mine have finely begun to spread in fact they are now spreading between the  stepping stones.  These are in my front yard along a stepping stone path and I just love them.  If you need a ground cover, you can walk on, check them out.

In the last 6 years I have bought Stepables every spring, as many as I can find.

In our area if I luck up on 4 to 6 big pots I am thrilled.

Probably over half of the plans have not made it through our hot summers

but the ones that have are taking off.    Once established they seem to tolerate  our heat and sun.

They love abuse and keep on growing, it is like they need to be walked on in order to spread.  In the early summer this type has tiny white flowers.

This morning on the way to work I could not resist taking photos.  I am just so darn happy with them and I wanted to share my small success.

ENJOY THIS BEAUTIFUL SPRING AND TO ALL YOU MOTHERS
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY, BLESSINGS KATHY

  2. I love the idea of a plant that gets better with use! Sort of like pearls that improve with wearing.

  4. Kathy, thank you for sharing!
Oh, these plants look so charming and may be perfect for my garden edging in the courtyard.
I'm going to check with my local garden center tomorrow and see if they carry them or will order them for me.

  5. Hi Kathy
Thanks for visiting my blog. I use some of the Stepables and then some plants become stepped on as well. They seem very forgiving but couldn't take the wear that the thyme and such can.

  6. Kathy, the little Leptinella that I've used in my kettle Fairy Garden is a Stepable! I love it...it's called "Brass Buttons" and looks exactly like tiny fern fronds...♥♥

  7. Hi Kathy, your sweet post reminded me of something I would love to plant, a Camomile lawn, easy to look after I am told and gives off a heavenly scent when walked on. There was a wonderful series on British tv called The Camomile Lawn, really worth watching if you can ever see it, the house has a Camomile lawn. Have a lovely day, all the best, Bea x
