Hello Friends, A few weeks ago a couple of friends and I put on our old cloths
packed some tastie treats and off we went
to the studio of Bill Harrison @ The Garage.
in Point Clear.
We had a blast. It was just a day of laughing, painting and meeting new friends.
It was one of those days that it really didn't matter what we painted.
This is my painting, I have named it Home Sweet Home.
I'm normally a frustrated artist.....nothing is ever right.
I have never had a natural talent in drawing or painting. You know the kind of person who can sit down and sketch away and you actually know
what it is. Well that is not me.
I think that is why I am so drawn to mixed medium and altered art.
This is a photo of Bill's nest in his studio along with mine.
Home Sweet Home is now at home
on my glass porch and it fits in just fine.
That's a nice surprise.
That's a nice surprise.
I am going to join in the fun with friends at the parties below,
Take care, STAY COOL and have a wonderful day, Kathy
Love your nest. It does remind me of "home sweet home."
ReplyDeleteHome Sweet Home looks right at home on your glass porch. Love the term, glass porch. I call ours the sun room, but glass porch is exactly what it is. Think I may just give it a new name. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove your vignette on the table. Thanks for sharing some inspiration!
:D I love your next and eggs painting! It is so cute!!! I know y'all had fun. The Garage sounds like a place I would love to visit!
ReplyDeleteOMGOSH, Kathy!!! You did a wonderful job on that. I LOVE it and it is perfect in your room...and you said you couldn't paint properly? HA! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThe painting is great! =) Very inspiring.

You seem extremely talented to me, but then I can't draw or do anything along a creative line.
ReplyDeleteYour "Home Sweet Home" really is sweet. Yours is just as lovely as the master's! You have such talent, trust me not everyone can paint, no matter how many lessons! It looks right at "home" by the sofa. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

Patti
I also peeked into your studio,
(sigh) ....beautiful!
We are all so critical of our own work! Your nest painting came out great! Glad you can be happy with one of your own pieces! And had a good time creating it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely afternoon that must have been - and then to bring something so precious home with you to enjoy - I liked this post very much.
ReplyDeleteI like it very much! And it looks so nice on that table as well!

ReplyDeleteWe are our own worst critics. Your painting is lovely! If you don't value your work, no one else will!
ReplyDeleteI think you did a wonderful job! It's the perfect addition to your sofa table display. And just think of the joy of satisfaction knowing you created that masterpiece! Makes me want to pull out the paints!
